After spending five years in development, Qualcomm has unveiled its Centriq 2400 server processor line, with chips built around ARM and ready to take on the biggest workloads. Qualcomm is laser-focused on the datacenter, and based on what we know now, it has huge potential to pave the way for a healthy share of the market.

We take Intel’s latest and greatest CPU, the 10-core 20-thread i9-7900X, through our gauntlet of tests, as we get to grips with a new platform, X299. Shaving off $700 from the original 10-core desktop CPU, the i7-6950X, Intel offers more than just a simple clock boost to keep it competitive, such as with the inclusion of AVX512.

At Computex 2017, AMD showed the world its upcoming product releases. From Ryzen Mobile APUs, EPYC server CPUs, laptops and desktops from OEM partners, and surprise announcements for Threadripper’s 64 PCIe lanes and RX Vega launch date. The next couple of months are going to be busy!
